The Gigantic Padlock ZF 🔒, a Hard-Surface model made from scratch in Blender and textured in Adobe Substance 3D Painter for the Golden Project.
Modeled with the classic polygonal modeling technique, the shackle is the only animated part, with a 7 bones armature rigged with IK (Inverse Kinematics).
The padlock body is not skinned and separated from the shackle. This can help to import the padlock body as a single Static Mesh and convert it to a Nanite Mesh format in Unreal Engine 5, while exporting the shackle as a Skeletal Mesh, i.e., without enabling Nanite in the import settings (which currently doesn't support skeletal animations).
